risen sightings

lots of stuff going on with risendrums. for starters. check out monday’s jimmy fallon show with mint condition. our very own brandon commodore is drumming with his brand new risen kit, its an 8 ply maple with roundover edges, black satin and all white hardware.  for his snare he is playing a maple stave 6×14 with grady’s favorite dirty satin finish. here is the link. go to minute 37.

also. you cant miss Joe in needtobreathe opening up on the taylor swift tour. we just saw the tour pass through minneapolis. what a show. look out for a secret show in your town on some off dates of this tour.  and go buy the newest single ‘slumber’ just out yesterday on itunes.  Joe is rockin his newest risen kit on this tour, vintage mahogany shells with reinforcement hoops, roundover edges, custom secret red swirl finish and some old school vintage lugs.

also, we just saw musiq soulchild through minneapolis last week. Brandon McCrae is more than qualified to groove with this band. his newest risen kit is brown satin with all natural maple hoops.

thanks to both Brandon’s and Joe, glad to have you behind risendrums!

the beginning

September 28th, 2010

Welcome to the risendrums blog! this is a fresh start for us here at risen, but we are very excited to make it happen. before we begin we need to say thanks to spindlecreative for making this new website for us this summer. love it guys. thanks a ton.

now here is how this is gonna work. this blog does have a purpose. and here it is: there are alot of ideas and theories out there around drum building,  over the 11 years that we have been studying drums we have come across all sorts of ideas, thoughts, websites, what-ifs, and actual products that have spurred some serious conversations into the specifics of drum building.  some hogwash, some credible, and some genius. and we want to share them.

so we are just gonna think out loud on alot of these ideas. this will just open up the shop a bit to the outside world of all the things we are working on at the time, or discussing. both good and bad about drums. so check back often and see whats going on here at the shop.

thanks for reading,
